Projects
I've had the good fortune to work on a bunch of wonderful projects. Below are just a few.
EMALS
The Electro-Magnetic Aircraft Launching System [EMALS] replaces the 60+ year old steam based aircraft launching system for aircraft carriers. It is installed on the newest US Navy supercarrier and lead ship of her class, the Gerald R. Ford [CVN-87]. General Atomics is the lead system designer and integrator. As individual project contributor, I had various tasks and responsibilities including embedded software developer, senior engineer, detailed electrical modeling and system level modeling, power electronics testing and troubleshooting, and SME for test support. It is pretty cool :-)
EMML
The Electro-Magnetic Missile Lunch System [EMML] was an electromagnetic launching system to replace the first stage booster of a missile. Developed as a collaboration between Lockheed Martin and Sandia National Laboratories, a concept demonstrator was built and tested in Albuquerque. As a contributor to the small team, I did EM analysis, performance evaluation, and pulsed power engineering."The science of today is the technology of tomorrow."
